Get Help with Your Taxes In-Person

You need to make an appointment to visit a Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC).   

To make an appointment:

  1. Choose the office that has the services you need
    • To see the services available, click on “Services Available” in the table below
    • Not all services are available at every TAC office 
  2. Call the appointment number for the office you need to visit
    • Our customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. If you need help in a language that isn’t English, our telephone interpreters will help you.

Note: In order to receive services, you will be asked to provide a current government-issued photo identification and a Taxpayer Identification Number, such as a Social Security number.

Caution: Many of our offices are in Federal Office Buildings. These buildings may not allow cell phones with cameras.
